Nature's Accent is building industrial scaled renewable energy plants using multiple fuel sources of wind, concentrated solar, and bio-fuels (wood and animal waste). We are dedicated to significantly reducing carbon emissions by generating electricity from renewable sources, being ecologically responsible, helping the community, and providing a great return to our Employees/Shareholders.

Climate Change
Many believe that we are in a global warming cycle. Greenhouse gases are found in our atmosphere and major worldwide steps are being taken to reduce the carbon content of these gases contributed by man's activities. The production of electricity from coal and natural gas are major contributors. Concentrated solar and wind power electrical generation does not contribute to greenhouse gases. Additionally, research is underway to capture and sequester CO2 and other pollutants during the production of electricity.

The Federal government and individual states are taking action with legislation to reverse the amount of energy produced from pollution causing sources. Many states have already adopted a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) that defines the percentage of electrical energy that must come from renewable sources.

Transmission
The current transmission system cannot meet the demand for capacity. Most of the transmission systems in the United States were built over 30 years ago and while there have been numerous up-grades to local systems, most transmission lines are over burdened. The current system cannot meet future requirements of load growth and accommodate increased capacity to deliver renewable energy. In addition, capacity for intermittent generation like wind and solar must be reserved for total output of these facilities and then must be backed up with the same capacity to supply energy when those resources are not available.

Demand
Load Growth: If you own the latest electronic gizmos and are considering buying more, you are not alone. By itself, conservation is not a good option as society embraces new technology every day. We should see a growth in consumption at about 2.5% per year for generations to come.

Renewable Portfolio Standard: legislation to impose or increase the RPS to reduce greenhouse gasses and emissions will increase the need for renewable energy above 150 GW per year, nationwide. The demand for renewable energy will require significant investment and industrial strength supply from multiple sources.

Obsolete Assets: now let's add the requirement to either reduce emissions of our older dirty coal plants or decommission them completely. This will add to the demand for clean energy by an additional 100 MW annually in the US.

Super Scale
In order for renewable energy to meet the demands as described above, we need to develop practical and economical methods of production that meet the scale and scope of the problem. We need "super scale" generation that doesn't out strip the available fuel sources. Nature's Accent believes that there is a solution at "super scale" that can meet a significant portion of the demand; distributed, regionally located plants that are gentle on the environment.

Delivering Industrial Quantities of Renewable Energy at the Cost of Coal
Our patent pending Tri-Fuel(TM) technology uses proven biomass, solar and wind technologies in a completely integrated baseload configuration. Biomass is used to firm up solar and wind power to deliver energy 24/7/365. Additionally these fuel sources can be overlapped to provide additional "As-Available" energy. This is how we achieve non-stop operation, redundancy and reduced operating risk. All of the technologies we use have 20+ years of operating history. Each plant has overbuilt capacity and can achieve 210% of output under favorable wind and solar conditions.

When our regional renewable energy plants are combined into an energy system, we can meet GW's of demand reliably, seamlessly, that meet the cost challenge of competing fossil fuels. We combine low cost biomass waste with the free fuel cost of wind and solar into the most economical renewable energy solution.

How do we do it?
The planned firming fuel source for each plant will incorporate some form of biomass utilization. Woody biomass will be used in local forested areas that have sustainable yields within a practical transportation radius. Bovine biomass is used in areas with a concentration of dairies and feed lots. Biomass when combined with solar thermal and wind resources becomes the most economical, baseload renewable energy production source available in sufficient quantities needed by our public utilities. Our Tri-Fuel design, while the initial cost of installation is not the lowest, produces revenue around the clock thus giving the user the lowest rates possible.

Driven by Sound Environmental Processes
Ecologically Sound: We are the "ultimate tree huggers" and nothing is more important to us than using methods and procedures that are ecologically sound. We will employ biologists working with our harvest crews, in the field with quality monitoring. We expect to harvest primarily on private lands but we welcome the opportunity to work with state, federal and local agencies for thinning and stewardship contracts. Our harvesting prescriptions will be determined scientifically and our forest practices were derived from those methods recommended by New Mexico environmental groups in concert with the State Division of Forestry and the US Forest Service.

Use Everything: wood waste from harvesting, wood waste from wood product manufacturing, excess heat, and in process water used for cooling. We use dry "heller" style cooling and do not use evaporative water. We clean water as a result of sequestering our flue gasses, reducing CO2 emissions by 70% and NOX by 90%.

What makes a Community Responsive Company?
Nature's Accent intends to listen to the communities in which our plants are located. We live in these communities as well. We want to hear your concerns and address them honestly. We want to offer solutions that benefit both sides. Additionally, we have technical resources to remediate waste water for community and waste water applications.

Why not in my backyard?
The classic response to the question "do you want renewable energy vs. fossil fuel" most people say "yes" with the caveat at the same rate as what I'm paying now and not if the generator is in my backyard. We have addressed the first statement by offering the lowest cost renewable energy on the planet. The second issue is a bit more complex.

Nature's Accent will build safe, clean distributed renewable energy plants throughout the southwest. We sequester all of the harmful chemicals, reduce CO2 and NOX emission well below acceptable levels. Our plants will comply with all state and local environmental requirements. We reuse water and it isn't evaporated into the air for cooling purposes.
